Thank you so much for the information you provided. My great-grandfather, Alfred J. Sampson, emigrated to the U.S. in 1890. While I had names and dates, your narratives added so much to my understanding of their lives. I am passing your page to my brothers and sister. Again, thank you!

Dear Mr. Samson, I have only just stumbled across your website by accident, but I am very excited to explore what you have written here. My paternal great-grandmother was Marie Mathilde Samson (1859-1940) and she was born in Pointe Coupee Parish, Louisiana. Her great-grandfather, Francois Laurens Samson (1735-1818) was born in St. Malo, Bretagne, France and died in Pointe Coupee Parish, Louisiana. There are still Samson relatives in the same little town (New Roads, LA) and, at least in my grandmother's generation, they were still speaking French. Sadly, I do not know this part of my family, but I am hoping to reconnect to some of them who are also interested in the family history. Perhaps your ancestors and mine were part of the same family, perhaps not, but I thank you so much for sharing your work. I was born in Baton Rouge, LA and live in Denver, CO where I manage a law firm. I would be honored to hear from you.

Stephanie Samson

My name is Stephanie Samson, I am 27 years old and am Mexican-American residing in Los Angeles. I have always been curious of my last name/family origin. Interesting website, thanks for the information.

James Gurney

The Gurney family is descendant from Dominque Boudrot and Marguerite Samson. Their daughter Zellie married Patrick Gurney (Grenon.)

I can not express my appreciation for this valuable information.

Best Regards,

Jim

Hello Jeanette:  This can be found on WikiTree.  It was submitted by Marc Chretien, who has found no proof in any documents that our Toussaint Samson is the son of a Paul Samson and Guillette Le Cardier.  This has traveled around the Internet for many years, but I have still yet to see a document showing proof....which is what we need in Genelaogy.  If someone has such proof, please send it to me so that I can add it to the website.  Otherwise, for all readers, do not add any parents to Toussaint Samson, or a birth date and place until we can find credible documentation.  Thanks!

Hi Charles.

I am a Cowan Miller researcher, and your 303. Daniel Samson married Elizabeth Cowan Miller in 1901 (albeit, she was also known as Marie Louise Miller. Regrettably, you haven't delved that far down Daniel's line, however I have accumulated some information, in the form of a Doc, which will fill in a few more details missing from your fabulous Tree. If you can kindly contact me on the e-mail address show, I will forward it to you.

Best wishes and have a great Festive Season.

Very interesting family website. Thank you. My Great Grandfather was Alfred Joseph Samson, who emigrated to Warren, Rhode Island , married and had 17 children. I visited Isle Madame in 2009. We stopped in Sampson's Cove on our motorcycles. Anyway thanks again
